Modern Two-Sided Tree Skirt

A uniquely shaped “Wedge” is used to achieve this modern spiral Tree Skirt. This is a Fat Quarter friendly pattern, with minimal waste.

Full size and squaredFat Quarters are needed as Wedges are 18” tall.

Method 1 creates a reversible tree skirt from Wedges with Sashing on both sides, with a quilt as you go method. Two completely different color schemes can be used, as long as there is one color in common, or to complement both sides in the binding. A walking foot is very helpful for managing thick layers.

Method 1 assembly is Serger Friendly since you can lower the Serger Presser Foot Pressure and utilize the larger Feed Dog area to handle the many thick layers of fabric and batting.

Method 2 creates a tree skirt, using the same Wedges (without sashing) on one side, and single fabric backing, to be quilted and bound. A super quick alternative to Binding for Method 2 is decorative serger “Binding”.
